Last week the girl and I had a fun date night and attended a great event that was put on by Dulce Vida Tequila, Barreled 2013. It was their inaugural Barreled event and was a great way to kick off the pre-SXSW activities with some good food, music and company. The set-up was awesome with food trucks in the parking lot and barrels stood up on end for tables for people to pull up at and enjoy some tasty guacamole and tacos. They even took some old wooden pallets and turned them into swinging benches inside the warehouse which helped create a really fun vibe and atmosphere. Not to mention they partnered with Collings Guitars to put on some great live music featuring local musicians such as MilkDrive, Redd Volkert and Sons of Fathers!
I am pretty sure that each person is allotted one birth day, as well as one birth weekend. Mine was last weekend, and it was wonderful. Lots of desserts, a Christmas bazaar, food truck lunch, a very handsome birthday date, donut making, presents in bed, greasy cheeseburgers, and time to sew. It was perfect.
Last week, my bff and I went to First Thursday on South Congress. We couldn’t decide if it was too soon to start buying gifts, so we quit shopping early and ate crepes instead. We probably would have went to Hopdoddy for a burger too, if our tummies weren’t full of crepes.
After watching the new episodes this season of The Great Food Truck Race it has only further validated to me that I think it would be awesome to own a food truck. I’ve started to try and brainstorm ideas for what my food truck would be and after talking it over with the girl, we think that it would be super sweet to have a food truck that is half bakery/half regular food. We’re still working on what type of food cuisine we would feature and a name…but the wheels have started spinning! (Figuratively of course)
