Playing the part of a christmas elf

This year I decided to splurge a bit and get my dad (and my mom) something that I know that they’ve been wanting which was a new TV! I got a great price on it and it’s the best feeling in the world when you’re able to give your parents something nice, especially after all of the great things that mine have done for me this past year.
Another plus to this present was that I was able to appreciate the 18 hours of NBA basketball on Christmas day on a normal sized TV that I didn’t have to squint to see from the couch.

A new bed for the puppy

As you can tell from the picture below, Marley has quickly taken to her new bed that I got her. Supposedly it has some sort of special fabric to help reduce the smell of dog so fingers crossed that it’s true! Since she’s had it, she has laid in it probably 75% of her time being awake so I’d say she likes it.
Also, are there other dog owners out there that wonder if this is what their dog does all day long while they’re at work? Because I’m fairly certain this is all that mine does while I’m gone.

Going to a happy new home

In this case, we know it’s a happy home because this little guy went home with my brother who just happens to love squirrels!

Creating a cool heirloom
Posted: December 27, 2012 Filed under: Guy Talk | Tags: Christmas, Family, Heirloom, Restoration, Timex, Watch Leave a comment »I have been very fortunate to have been able to spend some really great quality time with my family this holiday break. Christmas was really great this year and I have to admit that two of my favorite gifts were not even official presents! My mom and I were talking about watches and she mentioned that she had a few old watches from my grandpa that she thought I might like and I was all over them. The two that I liked the best are below. One is an old Timex that is really cool and the other is an old Bulova that was an anniversary gift for my grandpa when he was still working which makes both of them have a lot of sentimental value. I’m really excited to take these into a place to get them restored and fixed up a bit so I can start wearing them and then hopefully be able to start passing them down in the future…anyone know of a good place in Austin to take watches to?

pretty presents

We didn’t even check the weather forecast, so we were all smiles when we looked outside.
After exploring the snow a bit, I warmed up with hot chocolate and turned my attention to under that tree. Wrapped presents are so pretty underneath the tree. I have to admire each one before I open it, so they know that I think they are pretty. But I try to imagine that they are just bursting with excitement for me to open them, because they know I will be so happy with what is inside.

I have to admit though, I don’t think I will ever get tired of the view from up there as it’s completely epic.
